Welcome to my page
This weekend there is a big event in Vilhelmina in the northen parts of Sweden. A winterfestival called www.vilhelmina.se is every years big event. The picture above is from the competition of who can stay the longest on an icepole..they have been up there since yesterday and they will probably stay for a day more. last night it was - 25 celcius!! I take my hat off for thoose who stays one night more!

I was born and raised in Gothenburg and moved with my family to Umeå 1975.
I've moved a few times back and forward in Sweden but I dont really know still where I belong.
I love the summers, springs and autums but the winter are much too long. It is nice with all the snow and ice but when you had it for 4 months you really long for some warm summernights. Also it is not so fun whenever you want to get outside you have to dress up like a polarbear or the michelinman.
I wish that I could live in Sweden during three seasons of the year and somewere warm during at least 2 mounths in the winterseason.
If you plan i s to come to Sweden during the winterseason I really recomend you to go upnorth.
In the southern parts of sweden it is mostly rainy and windy and quite cold from nov-mars. In the North you have the snow and the temperature is below the southern degrees but you can dress up for the cold here and it seldom rains or is windy. So if you are dressed right you wont get cold.
Also all the snow makes the days a bit lighter, even though we just have daylight from about 10.30 until 14.30 during Jan.
If The plan is a trip during summer, well then I just have to congratulate you! You are planning to visit one of the worlds most beautiful and cleanest countries in the world!
It doesnt matter witch part you end up in. You will experience our nature and culture anywhere you go.
If you want to go upnorth I recomend you to get as far north you can get! I will promise you at least one time you will get the thought that you alone in the whole world. Remarkabel feeling! Dont forget to bring something for the moskitos(MYGG) if you are visiting juni/ juli.
If you rather stay in the southern parts of the country you will experience a lot of old swedish culture. We have many beautiful old churches and the coastareas if fantastic!
A trip to Höga Kusten is breathtaking! (you can google that)The High Coast was the year 20
