Hapiness is in your own hands!

Welcome to my page
Scandinavia was on my holiday wishlist for many years, but with my previous wife I always went the other way. In 2005 I learned that hapiness was in my own hands after taking a few tough decisions. This was after I've met Anna-Lena. She speaks fluent Dutch (she lives in NL since 2001) and is Swedish from nationality, but has Finish parents. So since then we are exploring Sweden, Finland and are adding Denmark to the list. In future we also want to explore Norway, but first things first. What strikes me is the fact that Sweden is so spacious, people are so friendly, food in a restaurang is reasonably cheap and there are no traffic jams. I really love Sweden and the people, but I am not sure whether I want to move to Sweden. There are not a lot of jobs out there and starting my own B&B sounds nice but in reality this would mean that I will be a slave of my own dream. You can say that I am a realist, but fortunately also an optimist. Maybe in a couple of years. Houses are a lot cheaper than in the Netherlands. Anyway this year (2009) we went to Sweden again. We spent a week on Gotland, a week on Fårö and a week in Finland. So away from my work as an SAP consultant, away from traffic jams. Anna-Lena and enjoyed it very much. We went by car and drove only 5600 kms. Not much this year because we spent a lot of time reading books.
