Welcome to my page

Welcome to my site. I ´m from  Germany and I hope to find some friendly people here, who also interested in Sweden, Scandinavia and other fascinating places over the world (like Volcano N. Parc in Hawaii, Landmannalaugar and Gullfoss in Iceland, Trollfjord in Norway, Plitvice and Brioni in Croatia, Archipelago of Stockholm with its countless islands RedWineTrail in Germany etc.). My first stay in Sweden was 1994, but since that time, I love Scandinavia and have visited all scandinavian coutries. I have an own homepage about Norway and Iceland. Look at MyTop5.

  • Question about marzipan. I fell in love with it in Sweden. I have purchased Niederegger marzipan online but see another seller is Carstens. I'm assuming you can pick either up just like a candy bar in the states? Any recommendations for a marzipan type while in Germany?

  • Eric--Thanks for accepting the friendship. The bottom line is that any place is a good place as long as you live life. I'm excited to be able to visit Germany at the end of the month. I'm on a tour for 12 days that takes us to the Passion Play in Oberammergau. At the end of the tour I'm going to Munich for a week to do some sightseeing on my own and then I'll fly up to Stockholm for five days before I head home. I had thought about Iceland this summer but when I found out about the Passion Play--and only every 10 years--I just had to come to Germany. Have a Great Day.

  • Sure, Eric, my country has its beauty, but what we, middle class people complain about, is that we tend (and the goverment helps) to make it a difficult place to live, with social inequalities compared to Germany for instance, but with less inequalities than in most countries of Africa, which is a horrible comparison. A few months ago I took a short holiday here in Argentina and sit beside a German boy during a short trip. We began talking about things here in Arg and there in Germany. He said you Germans would not accept that rich people live in secluded environments, countries, as we call them. I think this is a good thing you have. I even met a Jewish Argentinian doctor who told me Germans had respect for the other... Well, I know you´re far from perfect, but I respect you. Have a nice Dimanche (forgot if you said...Sontag?)

  • Yes, all cultures are rich, no doubt about it, but I tend to be quite classical in my curiosity. I´d love to be in Europe once again, not in Cairo or my Latin America, which I both love and hate. I´d say travelling in Argentina is not very enlightening for me. I´ve been in Germany in 2001 and liked being there very much. I hope to go back soon, but first of all I should pay Sweden a visit. What about u? Best

  • Thanks for adding me as ur friend dear keep in touch

  • Hi Eric and thank you for your friendship. I have studied the swedish social policy at Uni and have been impressed by its apparent social inclusion. Sweden is well respected in UK and is now following sweden's education policy. I love this site and I can't wait to sweden for the first time in summer 2011, take care mate and best wishes, chris
