<<<<=== diving in fast water again

Welcome to my page

Greetings from Douro Ontario Canada

I like to snorkel in the many lakes and rivers in the summer.I spend 2-3 hours a day taking junk and the odd treasure out of the water.I have been diving for over 40 years.Taking photos underwater of fish, rock formations and plant life is a great hobby of mine.

Flat water kayaking is another passion of mine. I call it meditation on water. Time flies past so fast...you think you are out on the water for 3 hours, in reality it is 6 hours.Fish swim by your kayak as do beaver ,mink and loons. In sheltered bays ,the silence is so peaceful.

Hopefully my journey in life will bring me together with friends in different countries to learn about nature.

  • Hi, fine...I am swimming quite a bit at the high school olympic pool while my foot heals, another 5 weeks without hiking. I bet its really nice for you to be back in the water after your hiatus...great picture on your page....you know I really like the fast water!

  • Hi, Goef..is stoney lake one of you kayaking places? Looks like a really beautiful place...I have a place like that here called "wilber lake" where the peacefulness is invigorating. I can now walk without having my foot swelling in the evening...so my foot is making progress. Have a great weekend.

  • hej! as you've mentioned renovation time brings surprises of all sorts. usually they're negative ;) but 'the titanic' must go on :)) have nice time :)

  • Hi, Geof..have you been diving yet this weekend? What wonderful things did you retrieve from the river? I am afraid I have a stress fracture of my foot, and will be off hiking for an eternnity.... 8 weeks minumum; to make up for that I am now spending my time swimming. Its a pretty good back up plan and I always feet great afterward. Would rather be out hiking though.

  • Hi Geoff, you'll never be cold in the winter with those two big furry beasts to snuggle up to you. I hope you are having a good summer despite the curtailment of your diving. Are you doing a lot of kayaking. We put the house up for sale again, so my life largely revolves around that and our grandaughters. The weather has been particularly hot and dry this summer so the forest fire hazard throughout BC has been high to extreme. We're bleeding money, but they are keeping it under control. Have a great fall. Finish the summer with a flourish!

  • well...I was in the usual place...and it was quite rocky; but I didn't actually notice being injured. I just woke up this morning with a swollen foot. Very hot and dry here, (but I think I hear thunder now).

  • hej :D I gonna to do some jump in the nature on september/october, i hope i'll find time. Now i'm forced to concentrate on plenty isues due to some 'summer activities' like: renovations, purchasing stange stuff and combine it with proper logistic :)). So really hard to find a minute for decent pleasure ;) se yaa Berni

  • Hi, Geof...great looking dogs, very friendly. I sprained my forefoot yesterday so I am going to be out of action for a couple of days. What is the weather like on your end?

  • Hi, Geof...I got the book on the geology of the Appalachians this week and it is really interesting...there is so much about rock and minerals known. There are sections in the book about the mountains in my area which are known as the "white mountains" (in the Cherokee language they were called the Unaka mountains .."unaka" meaning "white"). The mountains are called white because they are freqently shrouded in a dense fog. There area specific passages and descriptions about some specific peaks that I frequent, which will enhance my experiences hiking there. Nice looking friend you have there! We had some refreshing rain this week, and now things have cleared off for the weekend.
