Hi, Florence....is your family planning any great vacation this summer? We are staying local...going to a local lake and the pool. I recently bought a small painting and I will put a picture of it on my page later (it is more of a quick oil sketch done in the field); but the camera cable which I use to download pictures to the computer is broken and the camera store is out of them for now. I was wondering, what are the local restaurants like in Amiens?

Hi Florence...if you have followed things you may know that a fight has broke out between two men and a nice French girl. As a great admirer of French history and tradition, I tried to add humor to this contest by proposing "pistoles at fifty paces!" The old French are famous for the "duel of honor": one man removes his gloves and uses them to slap the other in the face to insult him into proposal of the duel. The duel is arranged and gentlemen then meet each other in a secluded spot with their seconds. The duel of honor is a fascinating but dangerous old custom, that despite being outlawed by one French king (I forget which one) persisted for centuries.
