Welcome to my page

I am a writer based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

My wife and I visited Stockholm in the spring of 2006 and again in 2009. We both loved the trips, particularly Sweden's amazing contribution to the world of design. I wrote two articles about the trip for the National Post, a national Canadian newspaper based in Toronto.

On our second trip, we visited the places that feature in the work of Swedish fiction writers Henning Mankell (Skäne) and the late Stieg Larsson's Millennium series(the Stockholm neighbourhood of Södermalm).

  • Hello Andrew, nice to hear from you here! And now, when everybody´s eyes are on Canada. It is a little bit colder now in Vancouver I can see. People here try to see as much as possible from the winter games even if the time difference is against us. Hope everything is well with you and Lilah - and the cat! I envy you a bit having the third book still unread.

  • (Message to all members) CommunityOfSweden.com has gotten it's biggest update so far: Groups! Anyone can create a group and other members can then join this group and discuss the group's subject and upload relevant photos. A group can be about a city, an activity, perhaps a swedish musician or something else. You decide! You'll find the new Groups section in the top navigation. Check it out and enjoy! :)

  • By the way, Andrew, I just started to read the third Millennium book. How are you making?

  • Hi Andrew - thanks for your comment on my page and your offer to send me copies of the article. To make it easier for you - will it also be published on the web? I am sure Annika will bring copies of the printed article when I see her in a few weeks time. I hope you and Lila had time for some weeks off anyway when you came back from your trip. Out ofToronto some? Some fascinating ferry trips, maybe? Me and my family spent some fantastic weeks on our boat (we actually found the perfect island - not telling ANYONE where it is), on the west coast eating prawns en masse, and some time at the summer house. Started working today - a mental chock.

  • Sorry Andrew: Do not know what I did but I found all your stories, thank you.

  • Dear Andrew, nice that you share your travel ecperiences. When i have more time i will read them all. At the moment i am traveling back home after a visit to Skane, Stockholm and Copenhagen.

  • That cat - him, not it - has beautiful markings! He must long for mum and dad really bad now. Like me longing for my family who ran away from the workaholic (me) to the saling boat. And welcome back here, you two!

  • Hello there - thank you very much for a very nice evening. I think we went through everything from automatic geared cars and house restoration to cats and sailing. Hope you will have a great time on the roads in Skåne and Ystad.
