If you're in Stockholm for just a couple of hours, a walk on the bridge over to the urban islet of Skeppsholmen gives you the pure essence of the city in a few moments. Fabulous views over the city centre, including the Royal Castle, the beautiful Old Town “Gamla Stan” and the water, which surrounds all parts of the capital. We moved our Head Office to Skeppsholmen a year ago, when we started the construction of our new hotel (www.hotelskeppsholmen.com), but even though I pass the bridge on a daily basis I have not yet stopped being fascinated by this really outstanding view. The islet, situated in the very centre of the city, houses the Museum of Modern Art as well as the Museum of Architecture and several other cool places to visit, so there’s quite a crowd crossing each day and millions and zillions of pictures being taken. According to my observations, the favorite seems to be to pose kneeling under the Royal Crown adorning the bridge - see picture - in order to simulate it being placed on top of one’s head... ;-)
