As I was saying........getting there...is to finally go there. And we did! I pictured this in my mind so many times. How it would look like, smell like...you know... the scents, the colours, the joy of travelling. We went trhough Danemark, over the bridges, the weather was not at all good but it didn't matter. I kept taking picures on the road. From the route through Danemark, a lot like the Netherlands in flatness that is, from the surroundings, houses, farms, nature, the bridges. We stopped on occasion for a drink or just to straigthen the legs and of course a change of drivers.
We were crossing the briges, made a lot of snapshots there, saw the city of Kopenhagen from a far and headed for our final bridge to cross. (Sont bridge, a brilliant masterpiece). For me, it was quite and experience because I'm used taking a ferry to our own little isles and for our travels to Middle Europe we mostly drive over or through mountains and occasionally cross some bridges but not this size and not over sea! In my memory we just crossed it too fast beacuse I thought I would take longer to deal with a 16 kilometer bridge. But that was in my head, and in my head the distances on a map always seem bigger somehow. It's a womenthing, and no, don't ask my partner. He is just glad he taught me how to read maps. (He's a bit proud of the fact, really;-) But lets just don't over do it.
Finally we saw the lights of Malmö, and it was very nice to see as it was midsummerseve. We drove through Sweden and for me it was like a homecoming kind of thing. Sounds ackward, but it did. The light was beautiful, the roads were quiet......(to be continued)
