On our trail last summer we had four accommodation types. Normally it had to be a tent trekking from Abisko-Östra to Nikkaluokta. It changed in a mix of different shelters, mostly due to rainy weather?
Our first night we sticked to our tent near the Cuonajàvri. In the morning it was very foggy and not at all promising for the rest of the day.
The whole day we walked either in the clouds or trough drizzle towards the crossing into the Vierrojåkka ... valley. Strangely the south-east side of the valley was very sunny. There at 10am I was to tired to build-up my tent and stayed in herdsman shelter which after a bit cleaning I could stretching out in my Sleeping bag and had a good night rest. Next morning it was the clearest day of the whole trip and it started of to Mårmastugan.
In the Vierrojåkka valley towards Mårmastugan it was a beautiful walk one sometimes can only dream of. I took my time and enjoyed that beautiful valley. Around 6pm I arrived at the Mårmastugan. A two bedded shelter with stove, an external double toilet, a shed where you could drop your waste and chop some wood for the stove.
At 10am we headed for Vistasstugan in the Visttasvággi valley in a clear and sunny day. We even took a swim in the Vássajávri and relaxed afterwards an hour in the sun.
Around 5am, we arrived at the Vistasstugan complex which is was under surveillance by STF. We had a nice chat with the housekeeper and a good shelter for the night.
Finally towards Nikkaluokta and later at the làddjujàvri we tented again.
