I like it!

Ale's Stones at Kåseberga
(it's around ten kilometres south east of Ystad)

Ales stenar is a megalithic monument in southern Sweden. It consists of a ship out of stone 67 meters long formed build by 59 large boulders of sandstone.

One indicates that the material is around 5,500 years old whereas the remaining six indicate a date about 1,400 years ago. The latter is considered to be the most likely time for Ales Stenar to have been created.

It's directly at the coastline and a wunderfull place. I've been there several times. If you are near by, don't miss to go there.

  • Hello Daniel, yes do that. It's just the end of the road there. You look from the hill direct over the baltic sea. I will have a look for more pics, but to see it by your self is much more better.
  • Yesterday I look at a DVD from Kurt Wallander series: The Courier, a school class walk through the Stonehenge of Ystad. Didn't know there was a look-like somewhere else in the world. So, when I'm lucky an can visit the south of Sweden in autumn I will visit the Stonehenge of Ystad. Thanks for the info.

There are three kinds of stories:
Travel: these are all about the holidays and travel memories. Recommendations: these could be about the best shopping places in Stockholm or the must see places in the Swedish Lapland. Anything: these can be stories about Swedish midsummer celebrations, food or thoughts in general.
