My next visit to my cabin (stuga) in Lapland will be in mid-May for almost three weeks (my first visit in spring). Unfortunately Nordic Regional are making it more expensive to travel to Gallivare and it is putting people off joining me on my trips, so on this occasion I am taking the night train from Stockholm C. The journey should take about 16 hours, arriving in Gallivare at about 9am. From there it will be a 45km taxi drive to my cabin.
As I have no transport of my own, once the taxi driver leaves me, I will be alone for most of my stay, fishing, walking, watching birds and other wildlife, taking photographs and doing work on the cabin. Lots of sign of bears in the area around my cabin, So I'm hoping I might get to see one (not to closely I hope!)
It will be my birthday while there, so I am planning a bit of a party at my place for some of the locals (hope I catch plenty of fish!).
