I like it!
Last week I was up in Åre skiing. One afternoon we visited Tännforsen, a place I can really recommend if you want to rest from skiing for a while. It´s the largest waterfall in Sweden, in summertime up to 700 cubic metres of water per second is hurled over a sheer drop of 38 metres from lake Tännsjön down into lake Noren. But in the winter it doesn´t fall too much water, it freezes to beautiful iceformations. Look at this video on YouTube to get an idea: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwrdCdWHpQg

Unfortunately they don´t have an english website, but if you can understan a little swedish you can find information here: http://www.tannforsen.com/default.asp

  • Me again. I forgot to whrite that the ristafallet is also in Are-kommun. About 10 km from the village Are.
  • If you visit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FRb9i5Wud20 you can see a nice film of an other waterfall (the ristafallet). Personnaly I think that this one is more beautifull than Tännforsen. In the wintertime there are also some ice-caves you can visit and you can climbe on the waterfall. There is also a campingsite next to the waterfall if you like to have a cheap skiing holiday you can rent a cabin there as well. They also have a website (even in English) www.ristafallet.se.

    Greetings Jan Vos

  • Hey Pernila, certainly is the more impressive and spectacular one, also in summer.

There are three kinds of stories:
Travel: these are all about the holidays and travel memories. Recommendations: these could be about the best shopping places in Stockholm or the must see places in the Swedish Lapland. Anything: these can be stories about Swedish midsummer celebrations, food or thoughts in general.
