I like it!

Nearly every year,when we´re in Sweden,we make a trip to the west-coast,for example :Smögen,Stenungssund,Uddevalla,Lyseskil,Skärhamn and in the early years to a little island(there are no cars)called Gullholmen.When we went there,we met early in the morning,about 10 people ,packed with food coffee,anglinggear and clothes for all kind of Swedish weather.First part of the way was about 2 h by car.A little ferry took us to the isle.When I close the eyes,I can smell the seashores,the boats,can taste the salt on my lips,hear the doves and the wind flowing through the flags near a sleepy little harbour.Then we have to walk.The way began between some nice colourful fisher-or farmerhouses,with pretty flowering gardens,slowly the houses disappear and suddenly we had a breathless view over parts of moorland,tarns and heathland with a mass of Erica (ljung).In the background you can see the rolling cliffs reaching the sea.In a little bay,we`re looking for mussels and little prawns.The way through there is pretty: the carpets of Erica and a lot of other plants.I always waited that a fairy,or a elf appears.So we reach the cliffs,that´s the hardest part(about 2h footwork).but every way has it`s end!fishing,sunbathing picknick-pure fun at the seaside!We caught codfish,mackerels and some kind of plaices.(a lot,so:heavy to carry home)In the afternoon we went back,lucky ,sunburned and full-packed,and a little tired now!!!Every year,we´re shur to have the right way,and every year we lost it(shame)always thinking on the last ferry….we found back everytime and everytime you can hear “Gullholmen-never again!”Then we `re sitting on the ferry,calm,tired and then,very silent you can hear the question:when should we go again?

Amazing to find a story about Gullholmen! I was there for a week when I was 7 years old, in the summer of 1986. My favourite activity was fishing small crabs with clothspegs.
