I like it!

I am really looking forward to summer. Besides the long days, the warm sun, the hope for less rain than last year, and the long holiday, I can't wait to put our sailing boat in the water again. To sail away from people, just you and your partner and aim to find an island somewhere, where there is no sign of life. No noise. No people. Nothing.

Last year we found this island on the Western side of lake Vänern called Trollön. An island with a perfect natural harbour, sheltered from all sides, so no matter if the wind did come up, it was not going to touch us where we were. We stayed there for 3 days, and never saw another boat or another person. There was a beautiful forest on the island and we could see the sun rise over Vänern in the mornings. In addition, the water was warm and we could swim whenever we wanted.

The island had tons of berries too. Lingon and Blue berries. We left with bags full. Our freezer still has no place for anything else resembling food. We found all kinds of mushrooms. We love picking and eating mushrooms, and the mushroom book we travel with always come in handy to prevent sudden death or cases of severe vomitting. It's amazing how many people still die in Sweden every year because of eating poisonous mushrooms. It seemed as if we found the perfect island, and we're planning a return trip this year. It was so good to just get away from it all, make a fire on the shore and watch the sun go down whilst drinking a glass of red wine, and sharing all of this with the person you love.

There are three kinds of stories:
Travel: these are all about the holidays and travel memories. Recommendations: these could be about the best shopping places in Stockholm or the must see places in the Swedish Lapland. Anything: these can be stories about Swedish midsummer celebrations, food or thoughts in general.
