I like it!

As there was almost 10 days spring holiday to the youth we had decided before that we would take a longer trip to the western side of Sweden to the montains! The original plan was Tarnaby, but as the accommodation was expensive we choose Saxnäs for 3 days.

I had known the travel would be long around 9 hours with 3  changes but I didn`t sleep to much of course…In Umeå it turned out the the travel to Saxnäs wasn`t 230 kronor just 175, so out trip was started good. Fortunately the continuation as well so we arrived to there for the early afternoon.

We let our packages in the hostel and  we started to discover the place! First we found the only shop and after we went to where??? Of course to the forest… To the totally snow covered forest next to the totally frozen lake! It was incredible to see that many people was skiing and doing snowmobile on the river!! Despite this visit we didn`t dare to cross this river either!!!

On Wednesday afternoon while the girls were on their trek, with Krisztian we were walking to the local waterfall which was beautiful! This is one of the nicest waterfall according to my little guidebook in Sweden what we hadn``thought before!! It was such a wonderful sight that I visited it on one day later alone as well!!

But our greatest present was on our last night while we were playing cards! Suddenly a women came into the hostel tell us what she had seen… the Nordic light!!!!! It was incredible, but it was that! We rushed outside as soon as possible because it`s not a frequent phenomon!

Maybe I didn`comprehend it in that time, everything happened very sudden!! To see its shining green colour and its interesting moving like a ghost in the sky was unbelievable!!!

  • Great experience my friend !!
  • Something is touching my shoulder...and it is: the Nordic light! I also saw one in Lappland, unfortunatelly not green. It was not so cold, just minus 13. :)
  • a lovely viking paradise!
  • Glad you had a good time. Nature has the best shows!

There are three kinds of stories:
Travel: these are all about the holidays and travel memories. Recommendations: these could be about the best shopping places in Stockholm or the must see places in the Swedish Lapland. Anything: these can be stories about Swedish midsummer celebrations, food or thoughts in general.
